Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced software engineer to join the team developing the simulation process and data management functionality in COMSOL Multiphysics®. The majority of the coding is done in Java, with some in C#, SQL, and TypeScript. Based in our newly renovated office in central Stockholm, the team works on the Model Manager — a process and data management system for simulation modeling in COMSOL Multiphysics®. The team belongs to the core group developing the user interface, communication, and data layer functionality of the COMSOL product suite. The group is also responsible for the Application Builder, COMSOL Server, and COMSOL Compiler functionality, which customers use to create, deploy, and manage simulation apps.

Job Responsibility:

Writing and reviewing code
Contributing to project specifications and design
Testing new functionality
Developing the simulation process and data management functionality in COMSOL Multiphysics®
Working on the Model Manager — a process and data management system for simulation modeling in COMSOL Multiphysics®
Developing the user interface, communication, and data layer functionality of the COMSOL product suite

Requirements:

M.Sc. or equivalent degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or physics
Excellent programming skills with proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language
Work experience in relevant programming positions
Experience with larger software projects
Experience with API design
Experience with SQL databases, e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, or SQL Server
Experience with search engines, e.g. Apache Solr or ElasticSearch

Nice to have:

Knowledge of physics or simulation
Interest in physics or simulation
