Job Responsibility:

  • Will be a key contributor in transforming the CVS Pharmacy Price Value technology ecosystem, building high-quality, scalable solutions that impact millions of customers
  • Take ownership of complex technical challenges, deliver robust software, and influence the direction of our next-generation platform
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and fellow engineers to design and implement services and features
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement, drive solutions forward, and model best practices in software engineering

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Software Development
  • Strong foundation in software engineering: problem solving, data structures, algorithms, patterns, concurrency
  • Strong proficiency in full stack development technologies (Java, Angular, Spring Boot, Python)
  • Experience developing and maintaining RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend systems
  • Strong experience in relational and/or NoSQL databases
  • Experience coordinating release cycles, preparing release notes, and ensuring all development tasks and dependencies are tracked
  • Ability to ensure features, bug fixes, and tasks are in a “release-ready” state with proper documentation, testing, and approvals
  • Experience supporting production deployments and post-deployment validations
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and sprint planning best practices
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to lead technical discussions, clarify requirements, and support junior engineers
  • Strong sense of ownership and ability to operate independently with minimal guidance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field required

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience in a hybrid role involving both software development and release/operations management
  • Knowledge of message queues and event-driven architectures (Pub/Sub, Kafka, etc.)
  • Experience with an Application and Performance Monitoring platform
  • Familiarity with cloud vendors: Azure, AWS or GCP
  • Experience establishing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with SRE or DevOps practices, including incident management and root-cause analysis
  • Master’s degree preferred but not required
