About the team + role The Backend Platform team’s mission is to enable fast, safe, and delightful backend development at scale. We tackle critical platform challenges at the application layer — helping backend engineers ship robust, maintainable services through scalable frameworks, secure dependency management, and world-class tooling. This team drives the backbone of developer productivity at Robinhood. As a Senior Software Developer, you’ll lead projects that elevate engineering velocity, safety, and code quality across all backend services. You’ll be hands-on with tools like Django, staticcheck, mypy, and ruff — while mentoring engineers and shaping the technical strategy for core platform components like service bootstrapping, formatting pipelines, and IDE support. You’ll partner closely with Infrastructure and Product teams to drive large-scale migrations, optimize workflows, and push the boundaries of what’s possible for backend development at Robinhood!
