Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior ETL Software Developer to lead the architectural design and execution of high-complexity data and file migration initiatives. This role is focused on the digital transformation of legacy systems into modernized cloud solutions. You will be responsible for the end-to-end migration lifecycle, including data profiling, cleansing, mapping, and the migration of large volumes of document attachments. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between legacy RDBMS structures and modern Azure Cloud environments, ensuring data integrity through rigorous post-migration audits and reconciliation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Migration Strategy: Provide best-practice solutions for the transition of structured data and unstructured files from legacy platforms to modernized cloud solutions
  • Full Lifecycle ETL: Lead the Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) process using tools like Informatica or Azure Data Factory
  • Data Profiling & Cleansing: Analyze legacy data sources to identify quality issues
  • suggest and implement pre-migration cleansing and data reconciliation
  • Technical Implementation: Write complex SQL and PL-SQL queries to handle intricate table relationships and ensure precise data mapping
  • Cloud Integration: Manage migrations into Azure SQL Database and handle file storage transitions (Azure BLOB, SharePoint, Oracle BLOBs)
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain critical artifacts including ETL mappings, comprehensive data dictionaries, and migration strategy plans
  • Testing & Audit: Define and execute testing strategies, mock conversions, and post-migration audits to verify the completeness and accuracy of converted data

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in developing and documenting ETL processes specifically for large-scale data conversion and migration
  • Extensive experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server, and Azure SQL Database
  • Proven proficiency in Azure Data Factory and cloud-based DB technologies
  • Specific experience in migrating document attachments and binary objects (BLOBs) from legacy systems
  • Deep understanding of master data vs. transactional data interdependencies and information lifecycle policies
  • Familiarity with non-relational data structures, mainframe data formats, and segments is a significant advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to present migration strategies to executive stakeholders and manage client relationships across all levels
