To work alongside Social Workers in providing intensive, practical, and emotional support to expectant families. The focus is on earlier intervention to improve parenting capacity and support families in remaining together safely.
Job Responsibility:
Tailored Support: Deliver direct interventions in family homes focusing on parenting skills, budgeting, housing stability, and establishing positive family networks
Health Advocacy: Provide vital education on prenatal health, safe sleeping environments, and the benefits of breastfeeding
Service Navigation: Act as a bridge for families to access local community hubs and universal services to ensure long-term stability after the case is closed
Collaborative Practice: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing regular updates to Social Workers and Team Managers to ensure the child's safety plan is being met
Requirements:
Experience: Previous experience working with vulnerable children and families in a support capacity
Knowledge: Understanding of child development and the specific risks associated with the pre-birth period
