Leicestershire County Council is seeking a high-caliber, Level 3 Social Worker to join their fast-paced First Response (Front Door) Assessment Team. This critical role is the initial point of entry for children's services, ensuring that vulnerable children and families receive timely, high-quality assessments and interventions. This position offers a competitive hourly rate and a stable, 37-hour full-time work week under a flexible hybrid working model.
Job Responsibility
Undertake initial, comprehensive child and family assessments to determine risk and immediate safeguarding needs
Act swiftly on safeguarding referrals, identifying risk factors and implementing immediate protection plans where necessary
Initiate urgent care proceedings, prepare robust court reports and statements, and represent the Local Authority confidently during court hearings
Collaborate closely with schools, health professionals, police, and early help services to coordinate seamless support.
Requirements
Proven background working specifically within a Local Authority First Response or Front Door Assessment Team
Substantial, hands-on experience managing complex Child Protection (CP) cases and navigating Court work from start to finish
Ideally operating at a Level 3 Social Worker proficiency (advanced practice skills, minimal supervision required)
Active Social Work England registration and a clean, enhanced DBS
Able to transition and start the position ideally within a 4-week notice period.
