Job Description:

We are looking for Social Work Assistants to join the Children in Care Teams - To support Social Workers who safeguard and promote the welfare of the most vulnerable children and young people in the City through the delivery of high quality service.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support Social Workers who safeguard and promote the welfare of the most vulnerable children and young people
  • Support young people to keep in touch with their families
  • Work closely with children and young people to undertake direct work and build trusting relationships
  • Work closely with other agencies working with families you are supporting.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children and/or their families
  • Working collaboratively with other agencies
  • Passionate about working with children and young people to achieve positive outcomes.
  • A driver with knowledge of the Birmingham area.
  • Ability to work professionally with people experiencing challenging personal circumstances
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences through written, verbal and other means of communication.
