Randstad is looking for an inspiring, resilient, and highly skilled Senior Social Worker to provide professional leadership and supervision to a dedicated adult services team. If you are a registered Social Worker with proven management experience, a deep understanding of statutory frameworks, and a passion for driving innovative, person-centered practice, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact. You will lead a team of up to 8 Full-Time Equivalent staff-including Social Workers and Community Care Assistants-fostering an environment that champions the Home First and Three Conversations models.

Job Responsibility

  • Professional Supervision & Management: Provide robust 1-to-1 supervision, support training needs, manage absence and performance, and lead recruitment for your team
  • Practice Leadership & Decision Making: Guide staff through complex legal and eligibility frameworks, taking ultimate responsibility for decisions around Adult Support and Protection (ASP) and Adults with Incapacity
  • Resource & Capacity Management: Manage capacity and demand, allocate cases efficiently using internal office systems, and collaborate with integrated teams to maximize resources
  • Quality & Accountability: Monitor and audit case quality using recognized improvement methods, handle service inquiries or complaints, and deputize for senior managers when required

Requirements

  • Must hold registered social worker status with the SSSC
  • Proven track record in a supervisory or management capacity within a statutory adult social care setting
  • Deep, working knowledge of adult support and protection, child protection, risk management, and associated legislative frameworks
  • The ability to understand highly complex situations and articulate them clearly, alongside the emotional intelligence to navigate difficult conversations with service users or families
  • Comfort working across varied environments (office, hospital, care home, or conducting home visits) and a commitment to personal safety and lone-working procedures
  • BA in social work
