Job Description:

Newcastle City Council's Children's Social Care Long Term Team is seeking a passionate and dedicated professional to lead complex long-term child protection cases. You'll be working with vulnerable children and families over extended periods, requiring strong leadership, expertise in child protection, and a commitment to achieving positive outcomes.

Job Responsibility:

Lead and manage a caseload of complex long-term child protection cases
Develop and implement comprehensive care plans that address the unique needs of each child and family
Provide expert guidance and support to junior social workers
Collaborate effectively with multi-agency partners, including legal teams, health professionals, and educational settings
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
Advocate for the best interests of children within the child protection system

Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker (SW) with significant post-qualifying experience in child protection
Substantial experience in managing complex long-term cases
Excellent leadership, communication, and advocacy skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
