The Job: As a Senior Social Media Strategist (SSMS), you will be responsible for driving strategy and execution across all aspects of social media for our clients. The SSMS serves as the primary client contact, developing and executing the social strategy for 3-5 clients. Both positions report to a Social Media Director. The ideal SSMS has proven social media marketing experience working for an agency and/or a brand. S(he) possesses a strong desire to join and be a leader at a best-in-class agency.

Job Responsibility

  • Drive strategy and execution across all aspects of social media for our clients
  • Serve as the primary client contact, developing and executing the social strategy for 3-5 clients
  • Report to a Social Media Director
  • Develop and execute community management and influencer marketing strategies for Backbone's clients
  • Be a client-facing account team member who collaborates across internal and external stakeholders to effectively manage the timely delivery of excellent work
  • Contribute to and/or lead compelling presentations to client teams and stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of Backbone’s Influencer and Creator network, driving campaigns end-to-end, from partner curation and creative briefs to tracking and reporting
  • Identify content needs and strategically source assets to maintain a strong content pipeline
  • Manage and optimize budgets and cash flow for dynamic creator and influencer campaigns
  • Leverage Backbone’s tech stack to enhance influencer and social channel performance, reporting, and management
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and research, fostering thought leadership to help clients navigate the dynamic digital landscape

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • SSMS: 3-6 years of social media marketing experience
  • Agency or Brand experience strongly preferred
  • A solid understanding of all aspects of social media marketing and community management, including content curation, copywriting, content sourcing, scheduling, engagement, tracking, and reporting
  • Ability to thrive in, and enhance, a hybrid-remote team environment while also working independently and utilizing available resources effectively
  • Critical thinker and strategic decision-maker with the ability to adapt to the social media landscape
  • Understanding of user behavior across multiple platforms, including Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn
  • Experience using social media management, influencer marketing, and listening platforms such as Sprnklr, CreatorIQ, and BrandBastion
  • Adept at trend-spotting to identify opportunities and stay on top of the latest changes in social media trends
  • Strong design aesthetic and understanding of visual storytelling
  • ability to use social-first design tools, including Adobe Express suite to enhance content as needed
  • Excellent presentation and client communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels of an organization
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships across departments and with external partners
