Our Commercial Modifications Team is currently looking for you in Hamburg, Germany as a Senior Seat Structures Engineer (m/f/d). In our commercial modifications team, we are proud to operate under our EASA Part21J Design Organization Approval; with a clear mission: to become the number one customer choice for aircraft retrofit solutions in the commercial aviation market. Our international team, with strong presences in Munich and Hamburg, specializes in interior retrofit projects, ranging from halon fire extinguisher replacements to full cabin tube strips. As we expand our operations in Germany, we are excited to grow our Seat Integration Team, focusing on unique seat certification and integration for all Boeing aircraft models. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional value and quality, making us the preferred provider of cabin modifications and maintenance.
Job Responsibility:
Be responsible for and lead the certification activities for aircraft seating products to produce STCs
Be a technical focal and (Boeing) representative for stress, engineering and certification topics relating to integration of airplane seating
Perform analytical and finite element (FE) calculations, assess and predict structural failure modes incl. execution of root cause analysis
Compile structural substantiation documents and review data from suppliers for integration approval of seats
Work closely with Boeing teams and other stakeholders to ensure the aircraft cabin is delivered in the correct condition and quality
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, within Stress/Structures/Mechanical or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering
5+ years' experience in commercial aircraft design with an EASA Part 21, Subpart J Design Organization (or equivalent)
Experience within seat development and certification - from beginning up to approval including test witnessing and (E-)TSO programs
Extensive experience with EASA regulatory and applicable airworthiness requirements, e.g. CS-, JAR- and FAR-25 including related AC’s and AMC’s (relevant to §25.562)
Extensive experience with aircraft interior modification programs including certifying novel seat features such as pre-tensioners and air bags
Proficiency with key engineering tools: Altair HyperWorks, PATRAN / NASTRAN
