Job Description

Wath Academy is seeking to appoint an experienced and highly organised Senior Science Technician to lead our Science Technician team and provide outstanding technical support across the Science Department.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the Science Technician team
  • provide outstanding technical support across the Science Department
  • ensure effective preparation and delivery of practical lessons, demonstrations and assessments
  • support teaching of Science from Key Stage 3 through to A Level
  • oversee day-to-day operation of the technician service
  • manage workloads
  • maintain high standards of practice
  • ensure all practical requirements are met efficiently and safely
  • work closely with teaching staff to provide expert technical advice
  • support delivery of the curriculum
  • contribute to training and development of colleagues, including student teachers where appropriate

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a laboratory, preparatory room, or similar scientific environment
