Job Description

Allen Lane are currently seeking an experienced Senior Schools Finance Business Partner / High Needs Specialist to support Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) and High Needs budgets within a Local Authority finance team on a 6 month interim basis. This role will lead schools finance support, deficit recovery planning, and budget management, providing expert advice to Directors, Schools Forum, and Headteachers.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead DSG budget setting, monitoring, and forecasting in line with DfE regulations
  • Support schools with deficit recovery plans and financial sustainability
  • Oversee schools funding formula (APT), budget shares, and statutory returns
  • Deliver financial analysis, reporting, and business partnering across Education services
  • Support year-end processes and Statement of Accounts
