Senior School Monitor – Two (2) Positions Atrea Early Learning Center 7.5 hrs/day, 10 mos/year   Shenendehowa Central School District has an anticipated vacancy and is now accepting applications.  The District is seeking culturally proficient individuals who actively foster an engaging environment where students can develop confidence in their own success consistent with the Shenendehowa Profiles.   Job Responsibilities The work involves a variety of non-teaching duties under the administrative direction of the Principal, including student discipline and cafeteria staff supervision to maintain a safe and respectful environment.  Responsibilities may include: Oversees and monitors student behaviors, resolving minor issues/concerns and reporting major disciplinary concerns to the Principal; confers with parents as required. Trains, assigns/schedules, and supervises the work of cafeteria/recess monitors. Secures substitutes for absent monitors. Makes recommendations for Cafeteria schedules, staffing, and procedures. Active participant of the school safety team, safety drills, and bus duty. Coordinates standardized testing programs. Collaborates and communicates regularly with Head Custodian on physical layout of cafeteria tables and with Cook Manager on placement of food and equipment. Communicates with students and staff as necessary during lunch hours using cafeteria public address system. Performs clerical duties such as preparing a variety of records and reports; and other responsibilities as required.   Compensation & Benefits Step 1 ($23.41/hr) - Step 5 ($26.01/hr)  CSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement   Certifications/Qualifications Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma (GED) and two (2) years of experience working as a school monitor. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with students, staff, administration, and community and to understand and carry out verbal and written directions. Exhibits good judgment, mental alertness, dependability, tact, and courtesy.  Physical condition commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.

  • Physical condition commensurate with the responsibilities of the position
