Job Description:

Fivetran builds data pipelines that power the modern data stack for thousands of companies worldwide. We’re looking for a Systems Engineer III (Salesforce Developer) to design, build, and scale our Salesforce platform to support a rapidly growing global business. In this role, you’ll develop robust, production-ready solutions across Apex, Lightning Web Components, and integrations, ensuring the platform remains scalable, performant, and aligned with business needs. You will play a key role in end-to-end feature development, including solution design, implementation, testing, and deployment. A strong focus of this role is building maintainable, well-architected solutions that minimize technical debt while supporting long-term platform scalability. Salesforce serves as a critical source of truth at Fivetran. You’ll help maintain system reliability, support cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure new features and enhancements are delivered through structured development and release processes. You’ll work closely with Revenue Operations and stakeholders across Marketing, Finance, Sales, Analytics, Product, Customer Success, and Engineering to ensure Salesforce continues to scale with the business. This role requires strong ownership, sound technical judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment. You’ll participate in solution design reviews, sprint planning, and ongoing platform improvements while helping maintain high standards for code quality and system governance. This is a high-visibility role with meaningful impact across the organization.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design and develop scalable, production-ready Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, and declarative tools where appropriate
  • Build well-tested, maintainable code with structured QA and regression validation before production release
  • Evaluate multiple technical approaches, clearly explain trade-offs, and recommend solutions aligned with scalability and long-term maintainability
  • Translate business requirements into technical designs and break down complex initiatives into clear, executable tasks
  • Own medium-to-large features end-to-end, including design, development, testing, deployment, and documentation
  • Participate in solution design reviews and sprint planning, providing technical input, effort estimation, and identifying risks or dependencies
  • Manage deployments using structured change management and source-driven practices (Copado, Git, CI/CD)
  • Support release readiness by coordinating UAT, resolving defects, and ensuring successful production rollouts
  • Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems, ensuring reliability and data consistency
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, release notes, and runbooks to support system transparency and continuity
  • Contribute to improving development standards, code quality, and platform governance across the Salesforce ecosystem

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Salesforce development experience
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification required (Platform Developer II preferred)
  • Strong experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Salesforce platform architecture
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce governor limits and performance optimization techniques
  • Ability to design scalable, production-ready solutions and make sound architectural trade-offs
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with external systems using APIs
  • Experience using Copado (or similar DevOps tools), Git, and CI/CD practices
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and managing technical deliverables
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and clearly communicate trade-offs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in ambiguous environments
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Nice to have:

  • Salesforce Platform Developer II, Application Architect, or System Architect certifications
  • Experience with Salesforce CPQ, including custom pricing logic and advanced configurations
  • Experience building complex integrations and handling large-scale data processing
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Territory Management
  • Experience with Zendesk, LeanData, or Outreach
What we offer:
