Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Senior Sales Manager – Entertainment will focus on educating travel professionals, tour managers, production executives, corporate bookers and planners, field publicity teams & company travel planners on The William Vale, moving market share from our competitors, and uncovering new Entertainment Industry with travel to Brooklyn, NYC. Through effective relationship building and account management, they will ensure the highest levels of guest service and ongoing client satisfaction. It is vital that they are creative, energetic, and knowledgeable professionals, as they will play a fundamental role in the hotel's ongoing success.
Job Responsibility
Responsible for attaining assigned goals tied to the hotel's overall performance
Effectively soliciting and securing new accounts and entertainment group business
Solicit, engage, and develop relationships with people in the Entertainment Industry to secure business and groups
Works collaboratively with the sales team to ensure sales efforts are coordinated and not duplicated
Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings
Develop relationships within the community to strengthen and expand the customer base for sales opportunities
Entertain clients and hotel guests on the property as directed
Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
Participates in sales calls, phone solicitation/prospecting, and market analyses to acquire new business and/or close on business
Executes and supports operational aspects of business booked
Identifies new business opportunities to achieve personal and sales organization goals
Understands the overall market competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, and competitor positioning
Establish themselves as subject matter experts
Supports the company's service and relationship strategy
Provides excellent customer service
Set a positive example for guests
Interacts with guests to obtain feedback
Works collaboratively with the Sales and Marketing team to promote initiatives
Submit weekly activity reports
Log activities, contacts, and communication in Delphi FDC
Initiate sales agreements on the company's behalf
Initiate individual resumes as needed
Requirements
Education: A 4-year bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, hotel and restaurant management, or a related major is preferred
Experience: Minimum 5 years of sales experience in a luxury hotel environment
Grooming: All colleagues must maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance (specific standards will be provided)
Travel Requirements: This position requires business travel as direct by the Director of Sales
A complete understanding of forecasting, selling, and dynamics of the Brooklyn and greater Manhattan Market and competitive set
Highly motivated individual who can work independently
Ability to handle confidential information discretely and in the proper manner
Self-starter, and possess excellent presentation skills
