Job Description

Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies. We’re looking for a talented Sales Engineer to join our Commercial Expansion team to drive revenue growth across key existing Commercial accounts. In this role, you will partner closely with Account Managers (AMs), Customer Success Managers (CSMs), and Sales leadership to identify, develop, and close expansion opportunities within your book of business. Your focus will be on increasing customer value and revenue by: Selling into additional business units; Expanding new use cases; Introducing new connectors and product capabilities; Expand platform value and adoption across teams. You will serve as the technical owner of expansion motions and be accountable for achieving the technical win that drives measurable revenue growth.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in data replication, sales engineering, or related technical field
  • Proven experience driving upsell or expansion within existing accounts
  • Strong technical background in database replication, cloud infrastructure, and modern data architectures
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses, transformation tooling (dbt), data catalogs, and BI tools
  • Ability to identify growth signals and translate them into expansion strategies
  • Strong discovery and consultative selling skills
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and business audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL, and NoSQL databases
