Job Description

As a Senior ROV Pilot Technician, you’ll support the Supervisor in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) systems, including the Tether Management System (TMS), Launch and Recovery System (LARS), and all associated subsea tooling. You’ll coordinate planned maintenance, assess weather and operational conditions for safe deployment, and uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental protection. In this senior offshore ROV role, you’ll supervise shifts, communicate critical safety and operational updates, and manage team performance during subsea operations. You’ll also take a proactive approach to identifying your own training needs and making the most of development opportunities. This is a hands‑on, safety‑focused position ideal for experienced ROV professionals ready to lead by example in challenging offshore environments.

Job Responsibility

  • Maintain a strong safety focus with a proactive attitude toward Health, Safety, and the Environment, adhering to Fugro’s safety standards and core values
  • Lead maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities for ROV systems, including associated subsea equipment and tooling
  • Perform a wide range of piloting and manipulator operations during subsea tasks, supporting complex offshore ROV missions
  • Execute safe and efficient launch and recovery procedures for the ROV system, including TMS and LARS operations
  • Support the Supervisor with operational planning, safety documentation, and technical coordination across offshore projects
  • Collaborate effectively with the ROV team, worksite personnel, and project staff to ensure smooth and efficient marine operations
  • Work directly with company personnel and clients to complete subsea tasks, aligning with project requirements managed by the Service Line Project Management Team and Director

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in at least one core technical discipline (e.g., electrical, mechanical, hydraulic), with working knowledge across other related fields
  • Competent in piloting ROVs and operating manipulators with precision and control during offshore operations
  • Hands‑on experience with various ROV systems, subsea tooling, and Launch and Recovery Systems (LARS)
  • Background in diverse subsea operations and adaptability to different offshore environments and conditions
  • Experience supporting mobilisations and demobilisations as part of a collaborative offshore team
  • Strong safety awareness, consistently working to the highest standards in line with the company’s Safety Management System
  • Effective communicator, especially in emergency situations, with the ability to coordinate well with team members
  • Willingness to work on both vessels and platforms
