The role involves analyzing thematic risk and compliance issues, preparing risk and compliance performance reports, advising on risk matters, developing processes aligned with the Risk Management Framework, and guiding management in developing action plans. The position supports Finance and Corporate Affairs divisions during a period of transformation and growth.
Job Responsibility:
Provide analysis of thematic risk and compliance issues arising from control self-assessment results, compliance incidents/breaches, risk incidents, and operational losses, escalating incidents/breaches to relevant stakeholders
Prepare reports on risk and compliance performance and develop templates and tools to support consistent application of risk and compliance frameworks
Support the business including Finance, Corporate Affairs and Governance divisions with the development, execution, and monitoring of remedial activity for operational loss/compliance incidents
Act as an advisor on risk and compliance matters and support the development of processes in line with the Risk Management Framework wherein the role is expected to provide insights on root cause(s), identify actions to prevent future losses, and ensure timely resolution of incidents
Guide management in developing action plans for current/emerging business and compliance risks and implement Line 1 control assurance programs and maintain internal control framework documentation
Requirements:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
Experience in an analyst, audit, or risk and compliance role in a complex, matrixed general insurance or financial services organisation
Strong technical understanding of control design and operational effectiveness
Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret data, identify trends, and inform solutions
Ability to interpret and analyse complex information to extract meaningful insights and evaluate options
Strong planning and prioritisation skills to manage tasks and competing demands
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels
