Senior Revenue Accountant

• Lead, prepare, and manage aspects of the monthly close activities, including: preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations and flux analysis
• Own revenue recognition and related processes such as commissions and inventory accruals for Strava for Business and The Strava Shop
• Review customer contracts and determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606, including documenting nonstandard terms
• Identify and scale processes to improve efficiencies and incorporate systems and best practices to maximize process automation
• Facilitate and support audits through the delivery of records and documentation to external auditors, as required
• Serve as a key resource for FP&A and Controllership to deliver relevant, timely, and accurate financial data and metrics to enable operational efficiency
• Be part of a public readiness journey from late-stage private to public including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
• Developing, maintaining and adhering to: policies and procedures, calendars, checklists, process maps, and other procedural documentation. Ensure compliance with all corporate policies and procedures. Partner cross-functionally to provide compliance reporting and process controls
• Performing regular internal review procedures to ensure proper documentation, records, and reviews and sign-offs. Conduct research to ensure any anomalies are explained and resolved
• Operating as an accounting subject matter expert, collaborating with business stakeholders on business-lead initiatives. Facilitate the development of project plans and schedules, as necessary
• Developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of all systems to independently research and resolve issues

• Bachelors degree in: Finance, Accounting, Business, related field, or combination of professional experience
• 4+ years of experience in revenue accounting
• A combination of industry and public accounting experience is preferred, but not required
• Proven ability to manage and understand US GAAP, specifically revenue accounting (ASC 606) and contract cost accounting (ASC 340)
• Experience with Netsuite (or an equivalent ERP system) and FloQast
• Proven ability to design, implement, and continuously optimize close processes, as well as internal controls, aimed at balancing operational risk, quality, and increased efficiencies
• Demonstrated strength with analytical and problem-solving skills, including advanced ability to analyze and present data
• System implementation experience
• Proven ability to maintain excellent attention to detail and accuracy
