Job Description

We're looking for a Resource Management Planner or Senior Resource Management Planner to join our resource consent processing team. In this role, you'll process a wide range of resource consent applications while contributing to high-quality planning outcomes across the district. Depending on your experience, you'll also play a key role in mentoring junior team members and supporting quality assurance.

Job Responsibility

  • providing best practice advice on resource consent applications
  • processing applications, variations, designations, easements and certification work
  • making decisions under delegation in line with the RMA and relevant legislation
  • liaising with applicants, submitters and stakeholders
  • supporting quality assurance processes and reviewing draft decisions (Senior level)
  • mentoring and supporting the development of junior planners (Senior level)

Requirements

  • a relevant tertiary qualification in planning, resource management or environmental management
  • experience in resource consenting (typically 4+ years for Senior level)
  • strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • a passion for continuous improvement and, at Senior level, developing others
