SENIOR RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT WORKERS - SOUTH WALES. Lead with compassion and help shape brighter futures for children and young people. Brook Street Social Care are seeking dedicated Senior Residential Support Workers to join a passionate team across South Wales. If you're committed to creating safe, nurturing environments for children who have experienced early life challenges, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support the Registered Manager, lead by example, and help develop team performance. You will work directly with children and young people, promoting wellbeing, independence and personal development. ABOUT YOU: You are compassionate, dependable and experienced in residential care, with a strong commitment to supporting young people.

Job Responsibility

  • Build strong relationships with colleagues, external agencies and the local community
  • Support staff development and assist with resource management
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, policies and financial procedures
  • Communicate effectively and securely across the team
  • Contribute to project planning and quality assurance improvements
  • Maintain positive relationships with young people and their families

Requirements

  • QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People)
  • Minimum of 1 year's experience in a care setting
  • Strong communication skills and a caring approach
  • Motivation to empower young people and promote independence
  • Flexibility, resilience and a strong work ethic
  • Aged 22 or over
  • Full UK manual driving licence (essential)

  • Provide shift leadership and act as the senior person on duty, including taking charge in the absence of senior management when required.
  • Promote a nurturing, child-centred approach that reflects therapeutic and trauma-informed care principles.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people and support their emotional, behavioural, social and developmental needs.
  • Support the implementation, monitoring and review of care plans, behaviour support plans and risk assessments.
  • Work in partnership with families, social workers, education, health professionals and external agencies to promote positive outcomes for young people.
