At Prosperity Children’s Service we provide care for vulnerable children and young people across the Lancashire and Greater Manchester area. Our children and young people receive support from a small team of incredible Registered Managers and Support Workers who strive to engage, motivate, and instil confidence and life skills aiming for the best possible outcomes for them. Due to expansion, we now have a few additional vacancies in our new residential homes.
Job Responsibility:
Mentor, support and coach new team members
Manage any challenges that may arise
Provide emotional support to children
Establish strong relationships, boundaries and routines
Create a warm and nurturing home environment
Promote each child and young person’s needs, champion them, and support them to fulfil their potential
Engage the children, open them up to new experiences and nurture their self-esteem and confidence
Deliver therapeutic model to support and care for children
Commitment to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of all children and young people
Requirements:
Level 3 Diploma or equivalent in Children and Young People’s Workforce
Full UK Driving Licence
Flexibility to work on a rota basis including sleep ins
At least 2 years’ experience in the Residential Children’s Services sector or have worked in a similar setting working with children with challenging behaviour
At least 1 years’ experience of leading shifts in a children’s residential setting
You must undertake our Crisis prevention institute training
Good understanding of the Children’s Home Regulations and Quality standards
Good understanding of the Ofsted process and good knowledge of all current Children’s Legislation
Some knowledge around the needs of children and young people with EBD/SEMH/CSE and the support services required
Strong communication skills with an ability to lead on shift
Good character and integrity with resilience that matches the demands of this challenging role
