Job Description

We are recruiting for a Senior Residential Childcare Worker to join a well-established 4-bed children's home in Derby (DE22) supporting young people aged 8-17. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a real difference in young people's lives, providing safe, structured and nurturing care within a residential setting. You will support the leadership team in delivering high-quality care while helping young people develop independence, confidence and positive life skills.

Job Responsibility

  • Support young people with daily routines, emotional wellbeing and development
  • Lead shifts and support Residential Support Workers
  • Ensure safeguarding and care standards are consistently maintained
  • Assist with care planning, risk assessments and reports
  • Encourage education, independence and positive outcomes for young people
  • Promote a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment

Requirements

  • Experience working in a children's residential care setting
  • Level 3 Children & Young People's Workforce (or working towards)
  • Leadership capability or willingness to develop into senior responsibilities
  • QCF Level 5 Leadership/Management (or prepared to study)
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted standards
