Randstad are recruiting a senior support worker for a Bristol based client on a temp to perm basis. Purpose of the Job: To share overall responsibility for the effective leadership and management of the Children's Home, ensuring high quality residential services for children & young people under the care of Bristol City Council, working under the general supervision of the Registered Manager and within the framework of current legislation and The Bristol Model.
Job Responsibility:
Role model best practice, trauma-informed care, and innovative practice alongside The Bristol Model practices, promoting the highest quality service from the caring team to the young people
Develop and maintain good personal relationships with the young people, with clear professional boundaries, and ensure these are built and maintained by the caring team
Oversee key working responsibilities to ensure care plans, positive behaviour support plans, and risk assessments are kept relevant and up to date by the appropriate key workers
Contribute to the day-to-day management, motivation, and continued professional development of a team of Residential Child Care Workers
Conduct an agreed number of supervisions and work with the caring team to achieve positive outcomes
Assist the Deputy Manager in rota responsibilities where appropriate
Ensure the establishment and maintenance of an environment which meets the physical, emotional, social, religious & cultural needs of young people accommodated in the home
Ensure the effective management of day-to-day financial resources of the home within Children's Homes Regulations
Promote good relationships with the local community and use innovative practice to further engage the children in local events and foster a positive local community spirit
Be involved in the referrals and assessment process for potential new young people and assist with the admission process
Assist in ensuring that the requirements of Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH Regulations and the Fire Regulations are complied with by ensuring the standard audits are completed
Requirements:
NVQ level 3 or QCF level 4 in Caring for children & young people or equivalent qualification and experience of working with children & young people within a residential setting
Evidence of or a willingness to identify and develop job related training and development needs
Willing and able to take on the duties and responsibilities of the post and with the associated work environment, including dealing with pressured situations
A positive, appropriate adult role model for young people and the ability to offer a professional relationship in a caring and accepting manner
