We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Residential Care Worker to join our dedicated residential care team, supporting children and young people within a nurturing, trauma-informed residential care environment. At the heart of our residential care provision is a strong commitment to supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma. Using a trauma-informed PACE approach, our residential care team focuses on building safe, trusting relationships so that children and young people feel secure, valued, and understood within our residential care homes. As a Senior Residential Care Worker, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality residential care to children and young people, many of whom have experienced trauma. You will support children and young people with their emotional, social, and physical development, ensuring they receive consistent, therapeutic residential care within a structured environment. You will act as a role model within the residential care team, supporting and mentoring colleagues to deliver trauma-informed residential care to children and young people. You will help create a stable, supportive residential care environment where children and young people can begin to recover from trauma and achieve positive outcomes.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting the day-to-day residential care of children and young people, including personal care where required
Ensure that all children and young people in our residential care setting are supported with dignity, respect, and a clear understanding of their individual trauma and needs
Work in partnership with safeguarding teams and external professionals to ensure children and young people receive consistent, joined-up residential care
Contribute to care planning and actively engage in training to strengthen your trauma-informed residential care practice, improving outcomes for children and young people
Requirements:
Has experience working in residential care with children and young people, including those impacted by trauma
Holds a Level 4 Health & Social Care qualification or NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People's Workforce (or equivalent)
Is committed to delivering high-quality, trauma-informed residential care for children and young people
Can build positive, professional relationships with children and young people within a residential care setting
Is organised and confident managing responsibilities within residential care
Demonstrates flexibility and a willingness to support across residential care services
Is committed to ongoing professional development within residential care, particularly trauma-informed practice
