Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Reservoir Engineer for one of our clients with the following details: Start date: ASAP; Contract Duration: 12 months; Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE; Work status: Single status

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the construction, calibration, and maintenance of full-field dynamic reservoir simulation models
  • Perform history matching, forecasting, development scenario evaluation, and risked production outlooks
  • Apply INTERSECT and ECLIPSE simulators for complex reservoirs (heterogeneous, fractured, multiphase, EOR where applicable)
  • Integrate static models, PVT, SCAL, well performance, and surveillance data into dynamic models using Petrel RE
  • Develop and implement reservoir management plans aligned with long-term field development strategies
  • Evaluate infill drilling, recompletions, well interventions, and pattern optimization opportunities
  • Support field development planning (FDP), depletion strategies, and reserves maturation
  • Ensure continuous optimization of recovery factor, production efficiency, and pressure maintenance schemes
  • Act as the technical authority for reservoir simulation and dynamic modelling
  • Collaborate closely with geoscience, drilling, production, facilities, and commercial teams
  • Provide clear, defensible recommendations to management and asset leadership
  • Mentor and coach junior and mid-level reservoir engineers
  • contribute to capability building

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering, with a strong focus on simulation and reservoir management
  • Proven hands-on expertise with: INTERSECT, ECLIPSE, PETREL RE
  • Experience in Middle East fields or large-scale brownfield developments
  • Demonstrated experience supporting field development planning, mature field optimization, and long-term forecasting
  • Experience working in complex reservoirs (e.g., carbonates, fractured reservoirs, multiphase systems) is highly desirable
  • Petroleum Engineering (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant discipline (preferred)

Nice to have

  • Experience in Middle East fields or large-scale brownfield developments
  • Experience working in complex reservoirs (e.g., carbonates, fractured reservoirs, multiphase systems) is highly desirable
  • Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant discipline (preferred)
