Job Description

Work alongside the Head of Reserving and wider Actuarial team to manage the Reserving processes, both GAAP and ultimate, and performance management across the Managing Agency

Job Responsibility

  • Assisting the Head of Reserving to perform the quarterly reserving for lines of business for the Syndicates under management
  • Understand and help develop Reserving MI that can be used across the business to understand key trends
  • Assess performance and highlight areas of concern and potential areas of remediation
  • Calculate and review reserve uncertainty/ranges and assist in communicating this to relevant stakeholders

Requirements

  • Strong academic background: Numerate/Statistical degree and making good progress with Actuarial exams
  • Insurance/Commercial Knowledge: Some experience across particular products and/or lines of business written at Beat and some knowledge of Lloyd’s market is desirable
  • IT Skills: Competent user of MS Excel
  • VBA, Access, PowerBI and general coding skills desirable
  • Knowledge of reserving software such as ResQ/InsurSight highly desirable
