The Loiselle lab utilizes cell and molecular biology, bioengineering, and next-generation sequencing techniques, complemented by animal models to uncover mechanisms underlying soft tissue fibrosis.
Job Responsibility:
Designs independent pilot research projects
Contributes to writing of research proposals
Co-authorship of scientific publications
Application of new grants and protocols
Analyzes and evaluates experimental data and interprets results within the scope of the study
Assesses the importance of findings in relation to the general research program
Supervise and trains new lab members
Performs molecular biological techniques
Develops and validates new protocols for cell/molecular biology assessment of tissue
Dissection of mouse tissues
Sectioning of paraffin or frozen tissues
Histological staining
Immunohistochemistry
In situ hybridization of samples
Requirements:
Doctoral degree with major course work in the field of assignment
Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant postdoctoral training
Prior experience with mouse handling, tissue harvest and sample processing
Molecular biology skills (PCR, qRT-PCR, gel electrophoresis, Western blotting, cloning etc.)
Bioinformatics
Data analysis/interpretation
Excellent organizational skills
