Senior Research Data Analyst

• Work with and provide expert advice to researchers across IMAS and partner organisations, continuing to ensure the adoption of best data management practice
• Provide training and education to researchers regarding data management best practice, and relevant policies and procedures
• Work closely with relevant IT and data management staff from the University and partner to ensure operational availability of complex IT hardware and software infrastructure
• Develop data visualisation tools, where possible based on existing infrastructure and data platforms
• Provide expertise in managing and manipulating research datasets and in online SQL databases
• Build and strengthen strategic partnerships with key projects and organisations at both national and international levels

• A tertiary qualification in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and/or education and training
• An advanced understanding of best practice in data management including the FAIR data principles and management of sensitive data
• Extensive experience in supporting and administering IT infrastructure and applications, preferably in a marine research facility
• Extensive knowledge and experience working with large datasets and associated storage environments including SQL databases
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of web applications, their design, development, and deployment
