Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Reporting Analyst to join our dynamic team in Emeryville, California. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in financial analysis and modeling to provide key insights that drive strategic decisions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and skilled in handling complex datasets to uncover trends and opportunities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Analyze documentation for new reinsurance deals and coordinate with Finance, Legal, Risk, IT, and leadership to ensure compliant execution
  • Contribute as a core team member in producing reports for both new and existing reinsurance transactions
  • Build strong knowledge of how reinsurance agreements affect upstream and downstream processes and work with teams to ensure proper integration
  • Deliver timely analyses and insights to support decision‑making across the organization
  • Partner with management and IT to define requirements and support future system enhancements
  • Assist in creating and maintaining large analytical datasets from internal and external sources
  • Proactively identify and develop new KPIs or reporting ideas based on observed needs
  • Apply Change Management and Control standards throughout reporting activities
  • Offer data‑driven guidance to Finance, Risk, Underwriting Ops, IT, Legal, and Servicing teams
  • Handle additional responsibilities as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • equivalent experience considered
  • Minimum five years of experience in insurance or financial services
  • mortgage origination/servicing knowledge preferred
  • Advanced technical skills, including SQL/database querying and complex Excel modeling and data analysis
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate proprietary systems
  • Adaptable to shifting priorities and evolving requirements
  • Strong ability to follow instructions, seek clarification when needed, and work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret contract and operational requirements and translate them into effective internal processes
  • Proven problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to ethical standards and company values

Nice to have:

  • Master’s degree, CPA, industry certifications, or Big 4 experience a plus
  • Experience with additional database, analytics, or data visualization tools a plus
