Job Description:

Are you a confident, collaborative professional who is keen to influence strategy, lead a team and develop relationships within our busy Fundraising team and wider network and community? We are looking for a Senior Relationship Fundraiser who will work alongside the team to proactively increase income growth, build relationships both internally and externally and contribute to campaign planning and delivery. At The Prince of Wales Hospice, we provide specialist palliative care in a supportive and respectful environment. Our 14-bed inpatient unit, located just minutes from Junction 32 of the M62 in Pontefract, also offers outpatient and community services, including a successful Lymphoedema clinic. Fundraising is a vital part of the income generated to keep the Hospice running and offering support to patients and families across the Five Towns community.

Job Responsibility:

  • Champion and role model collaboration, compassion and trust in all internal and external relationships
  • Lead the development of individual and principle giving income streams to increase the number and value of gifts from trusts and foundations, major donors, regular givers, direct mail appeals and gifts in memory and wills
  • Proactively increase income growth, build relationships both internally and externally and contribute to campaign planning and delivery

Requirements:

  • Have strong understanding of philanthropy, donor motivations and high value fundraising principles
  • Have strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging supporters at all levels
  • Have demonstrable success in meeting or exceeding income targets
  • Be competent in MS Office applications and CRM database usage
  • Have excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce compelling cases for support
  • Have experience of managing or supervising staff and/or volunteers and have effective people management and coaching skills
  • Have a positive professional approach and image when representing the Hospice, alongside personal drive and resilience
  • Be willing and able to independently travel to external meetings and events
