We are seeking an experienced Recruiter to join our team in Calgary. This position will lead the full lifecycle of talent acquisition for all Canadian operations, acting as the primary strategic advisor to hiring managers across the country. The ideal candidate will utilize modern recruitment tools and methodologies, including advanced sourcing techniques and professional networking, to build and maintain a pipeline of top-tier talent. Based in the Calgary office, this role requires periodic travel (minimally on a quarterly, as-needed basis) to the Toronto office to foster relationships with hiring managers and align recruitment efforts with national business objectives. This role is integral to attracting the skilled professionals necessary to achieve our strategic goals.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the lead recruitment partner for all Canadian business units, responsible for understanding their staffing needs, forecasting future hiring, and developing proactive talent acquisition plans
Consult with hiring managers to define position requirements and create effective interview and selection strategies aligned with business needs
Provide guidance and market intelligence to business leaders to inform hiring decisions and ensure a consistent and effective evaluation process
Develop and implement sophisticated sourcing strategies using tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, and professional networks to identify and attract qualified candidates
Manage a robust pipeline of talent for current and future openings, ensuring a steady flow of candidates to meet business demands
Represent company professionally in the marketplace, effectively communicating the company's culture, values, and opportunities to potential candidates
Oversee the full candidate lifecycle, including initial screening, coordinating interviews, and ensuring a positive and professional experience for all applicants
Prepare, negotiate, and extend employment offers in partnership with Human Resources and hiring managers
Develop and report on key recruitment metrics to provide data-driven insights that inform talent attraction strategies
Ensure all recruitment activities are conducted in compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and best practices, while maintaining data integrity within the applicant tracking system
Provide mentorship and guidance on recruitment best practices to junior team members and colleagues
Develop and deliver training programs for hiring managers on topics such as effective interviewing techniques and selection best practices
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the talent acquisition function by identifying and recommending enhancements to existing programs and processes
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
Minimum of seven years of progressive experience in full-lifecycle technical recruitment
Demonstrated success recruiting for technical and professional roles within the engineering, architecture, or construction industries is highly preferred
Expertise in modern sourcing strategies, including a deep understanding of demonstrated proficiency with tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter and applicant tracking systems (ATS)
Proven ability to act as a strategic consultant to business leaders, with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to present complex information and data-driven insights clearly and concisely
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop creative and innovative solutions to complex recruitment challenges
Demonstrated experience developing and delivering training programs for hiring managers on recruitment best practices, including effective interviewing and selection techniques
In-depth knowledge of Canadian employment legislation, including federal and provincial laws and compliance requirements
Proven ability to build strong, consultative relationships with stakeholders at all levels, from technical staff to senior leadership
Leaning towards 7-10 years of full cycle recruitment experience, preferably staffing agency experience
