Job Description

A commercial real estate firm is seeking a Senior Real Estate Corporate Accountant to oversee property-level accounting, support property management operations, and assist with budgeting and forecasting. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role with opportunities for long-term growth.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage month-end property-level accounting, reconciliations, and complex journal entries
  • Track and amortize leasing commissions, deferred financing fees, and other property-related items
  • Maintain escrow accounts, fixed asset records, and investment cost spreadsheets
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and property-level financial reviews
  • Serve as a liaison to property management teams and corporate finance
  • Support audit requests and ensure compliance with accounting policies

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial real estate accounting experience
  • property-level accounting required
  • Proficiency with MRI Software and fixed asset systems
  • Strong understanding of deferred commissions, financing fees, and complex accounting transactions
