Job Description

Aplin is pleased to support our client in their search for an experienced Senior Real Estate Conveyancing Paralegal to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in residential real estate transactions and the ability to manage files independently from start to finish. This role requires exceptional organization, accuracy, and the ability to provide seamless support to both lawyers and clients throughout all stages of a transaction.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage all aspects of residential real estate conveyancing files from opening to closing
  • Prepare and review transfer documents, mortgage packages, trust letters, and registration documents
  • Conduct and interpret title searches, off-title searches, tax searches, and corporate searches
  • Draft closing documents, statements of adjustments, and reporting packages
  • Communicate professionally with clients, lenders, realtors, financial institutions, and opposing counsel
  • Coordinate all closing logistics, including funding arrangements, registrations, and delivery of keys/documents
  • Ensure compliance with Alberta Land Titles requirements and firm procedures
  • Maintain organized and comprehensive file records, deadlines, and checklists
  • Manage a high-volume workload accurately and efficiently

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in residential real estate conveyancing (commercial experience is an asset)
  • Strong understanding of Alberta Land Titles procedures and registration processes
  • Proficiency with conveyancing software and related tools
  • Excellent drafting skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and handle complex transactions
  • Team-oriented, with a collaborative and supportive mindset
