Job Description:

Senior R&D Chemist - Sorbent Innovation Lead role at Climeworks, a leading carbon removal provider. The position involves developing future sorbent technologies, material screening and characterization, identifying next-generation sorbents, testing and data management, lab operation and safety, and confidentiality and IP management.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop future sorbent technologies based on key performance indicators
  • Apply advanced analytical tools for rapid technical feasibility assessments
  • Identify, evaluate and prioritize next generation of sorbents available in the market
  • Run testing campaigns to assess sorbent potential
  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of laboratory infrastructure
  • Protect confidential concepts and manage IP
  • Follow Climeworks safety rules and participate in safety exercises

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in organic or inorganic chemistry
  • 5+ years of experience in hands-on synthetic chemistry and material characterization
