As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have knowledge and experience in pre and post-contract management and procurement within the UK rail sector. The senior quantity surveyor will be expected to utilise their major project experience and knowledge to drive efficiencies and effective supply chain engagement. The role will be supporting our design team for early stages of the project through the initial design phase.
Job Responsibility:
NEC3/4 Option C Contract management and administration
Establish and manage entitlement, with key focus on gaining full entitlement under the terms of the Subcontract
Lead the review and valuation of contractor applications for payment in accordance with contractual terms and conditions and contractual entitlement
Managing Subcontractor's Accounts
Liaison and negotiation with the Customer’s Commercial and/or project team
Establishing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders
Ensure appropriate commercial records are maintained in line with the contract requirements and oversee any contractual issues
Investigate and draft contract communications and notices including Early Warning Notices, notification of Compensation Events, General Communications
Provide contractual and commercial risk advice to the Commercial team and wider Technical and Construction Delivery teams
Manage, monitor and report on commercial and cost reporting aspects of allocated projects and portfolio of works
Support the programme and project teams to ensure full compliance with contract and corporate governance rules
Requirements:
You must have right to work in the UK
Educated to degree level
Main contractor and/or joint venture experience
Experienced administering NEC3/4 contracts (A/C/E must have)
Experienced in leading the full range of contract management activities including evaluation/assessment of high value Compensation Events
Ability to lead on project financial monitoring and reporting
Experienced in proactive change and risk management
Experienced in negotiating and procuring sub-contract packages (Design-Delivery-Commission), testing the robustness of costs and value for money
Experience of working within a collaborative culture or/ and a mature approach to relationship management with a long-term strategic focus
Able to prioritise the delivery of the objectives of their role
Ability to performance manage and hold to account
Experience in managing and developing assistant and intermediate-level commercial team members
Nice to have:
Use of CEMAR is desirable
Ideally candidates will have a Rail or Infrastructure background
if they have worked on MEP projects this would be beneficial
