Job Description

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will join Key Task Management’s central London office, becoming part of a respected consultancy delivering Quantity Surveying, Project Management and Employer’s Agent services across a diverse range of projects. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will work across residential, mixed-use, commercial and regeneration schemes throughout London and the South East.

Job Responsibility

  • Take ownership of projects from inception to completion
  • Manage client relationships
  • Provide commercial advice
  • Support the development of junior team members

Requirements

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or RICS-accredited equivalent
  • MRICS or currently working towards charternship
  • Strong cost consultancy background
  • Experience delivering projects from inception to completion
  • Excellent pre and post-contract knowledge
  • Confident client-facing skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and communication skills

  • Undertake pre-contract setup, including forecasting, measurement, sub-contract tendering and procurement (including drafting to negotiating various forms of subcontract)
  • Effectively manage the commercial aspects of the project (or a section of a project) including valuations / applications, budget monitoring, material / plant reconciliation and contract variations / compensation events and change
  • Prepare, manage and negotiate the agreement of Final Accounts
  • Procure and manage subcontract packages, as well as supporting other members of the commercial team in the management of subcontract packages
  • Produce and maintain, and assist others in producing and maintaining, project forecasts to support the monthly commercial and financial reporting procedures
  • Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and maximise cashflow through the control and valuation of works, invoicing and payment process
  • Manage commercial team to ensure delivery of above items and develop their knowledge
  • Provide support and training for site staff on commercial issues and ensure compliance with all legal requirements, including contractual and legislative
