Senior Quantity Surveyor. Would you like to be part of Vital Energi’s 5-year Strategy of Growth? If so, due to continuing success, we are experiencing rapid and extensive growth in all business sectors, and we are looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a successful background in the world of Construction. You will join our Commercial team supporting a variety of projects covering Nottingham area overseeing the QMC- Hospital Project. You will support financial management of Contracts, in partnership with the Contracts Managers and or Project Managers.
Job Responsibility:
Work in partnership with site management, commercially supporting sites as required, to develop a proactive site team. Ensuring that contractual obligations are identified and administered
Vet contract documentation on receipt from Client to ensure compatibility with the Company’s Tender and subsequent negotiations
Produce Commercial Risk Register for each contract. Monitor risk and assist in implementation of agreed mitigation measures
Prepare and issue enquiries for Major Plant & Equipment and Sub-Contract packages. Vet quotations commercially and negotiate price and terms with vendors. Issue resultant Purchase Orders
Prepare and submit Applications for Payment and/or Invoices, obtain Payment Certificates and progress Client Payments in accordance with contractual provisions
Measure, submit and agree Variations, Loss & Expense and/or Compensation Events in accordance with contractual provisions to facilitate prompt agreement of Final Accounts
Monitor on-site record keeping. Prepare and issue Notices in accordance with contractual provisions
Prepare and submit monthly Cost Value Reconciliations and Cash/Spend Profiles. Attend Contract Review Meetings
Authorisation and coding of Suppliers’ and Sub-Contractors’ Invoices and submission to Finance for payment
Measure, certify and agree Sub-Contractors interim valuations and final accounts. Prepare and issue contractual notices to Sub-Contractors
Requirements:
A senior quantity surveyor who has a successful construction portfolio
Educated to BSc in Quantity Surveying (or other equivalent commercially related discipline)
Good understanding of NEC Contracts 3/ 4, Options A,B, C,D, E (Mostly A)
Member of Profession Institution (e.g. MRICS or similar)
Have knowledge and working experience of Construction/ M&E
Be able to demonstrate commercial awareness/ acumen
