Job Description:

A client of ours is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Cost Management team based in Berkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a dynamic and collaborative environment where success is shared, and career development is genuinely supported. The team delivers projects ranging in value from £1m to over £1b across a broad spectrum of sectors. This role will play a key part in delivering high-profile commercial and office developments, with individual project values reaching up to £500m.

Job Responsibility:

Act as a primary point of contact for one of our prestigious clients
Lead the day-to-day commercial delivery of key projects
Cost planning at various RIBA stages, including use of CostX
Producing preliminary and detailed cost estimates
Advising on procurement strategies and contract arrangements
Preparing and advising on tender documents
Negotiating and agreeing Contract Sums (two-stage tendering experience is a plus)
Drafting and reviewing contract documentation
Managing contractual procedures and offering expert advice
Valuing completed works and approving progress payments
Managing design changes and negotiating variations
Budget control and cost reporting to clients
Final account negotiation
Mentoring graduates and supporting junior team members
Acting as a client-facing, principal team member
Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and new clients

Requirements:

A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
MRICS preferred but not essential
Proven track record in cost management across a range of projects
Strong working knowledge of JCT Contracts
Experience with CostX or similar cost planning tools is advantageous
