Senior Quantity Surveyor – from March 2026. Morgan Sindall Infrastructure is working with Wessex Water under the YTL Framework to deliver a range of water infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects. These works are key to ensuring sustainable, high-quality services for communities across the region. Role Overview: We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial leadership and expertise within a geographically focused team. You will take responsibility for ensuring accurate and timely commercial reporting, subcontract management, and value recovery, while supporting delivery teams to achieve contract targets for cost, quality, and time. This role also involves mentoring and supporting junior staff, driving compliance with company processes, and working closely with operational teams to build strong customer relationships and deliver commercial success.
Job Responsibility:
Provide commercial leadership and expertise to ensure contracts achieve profitability targets
Deliver accurate and timely commercial reports and forecasts
Ensure contract, cost, quality, and time objectives are met
Manage main contract payment applications and ensure fair, timely subcontractor payments
Supervise, mentor, and develop subordinate staff, supporting professional development and welfare
Build strong working relationships with delivery managers and operations teams
Ensure compliance with company commercial processes and procedures
Manage subcontract accounts, including procurement, variations, payments, and final accounts
Identify, measure, and price variations in line with change control processes
Accurately measure works to maximise value recovery
Maintain accuracy of commercial data within project management systems
Monitor and support cost reporting, material buying, and plant spend tracking
Provide commercial input into performance data and KPI reporting
Support the overall project team in health, safety, and environmental responsibilities
Requirements:
Ability to work collaboratively within a business unit or project team
Strong management skills with the ability to motivate colleagues and self
Good operational planning and time management, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Knowledge of construction industry practices, contracts, and standards
Proven ability to ensure compliance and achieve high-quality project delivery
Strong commercial acumen and ability to deliver accurate reporting and forecasting
