TSA Riley in Cambridge is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background of operating in the Employer's Agent role to join our Residential Sector team. This position plays a pivotal role in enhancing our residential expertise and supporting the continued growth of this strategically important sector. The successful candidate will work closely with a range of Registered Providers and Investment Partnerships across the Cambridge region, delivering Employer's Agent services on affordable housing developments. Job Responsibility:
Leading end-to-end commercial delivery, ensuring alignment with agreed scope, budget, and programme targets
Building strong, trusted relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders through clear, responsive communication
Applying sound judgement to identify and manage commercial risks, resolve issues, and capture opportunities early
Driving financial performance through effective budget control, contract administration, and management of scope changes
Using TSA Riley's digital tools and systems to track costs, monitor risk, and support quality reporting
Ensuring compliance with project governance, quality, and safety frameworks from a commercial perspective
Leading and supporting team members with clear direction, regular feedback, and a focus on development and high performance
Supporting ongoing client growth by identifying opportunities and contributing to positive project outcomes
Contributing to business growth by supporting pipeline development, participating in bids and pursuits, and advancing sector initiatives
Requirements:
A tertiary qualification in a field relevant to this job role, such as Quantity Surveying or a similar equivalent
Professional membership to a relevant professional body such as the RICS is desired
Excellent technical ability, capable of carrying out a full remit of pre and post contract responsibilities on complex projects
Prior experience of acting in the Employers Agent role
A proven track record of delivering large or complex projects in consulting or client-side environments, including strong experience within the residential/affordable housing sector
Deep understanding of cost planning, estimating, procurement, and contract administration, including the ability to provide informed commercial advice across the project lifecycle
Proven ability to manage commercial performance across complex projects, ensuring delivery against budget, scope, and client expectations
Proficiency with digital tools and project systems to support financial tracking, reporting, coordination, and quality assurance
Skilled in navigating stakeholder complexity, resolving disputes, and aligning diverse interests to achieve commercial outcomes
A reputation for leading teams effectively and supporting others
Actively building their professional reputation and connections through high-quality delivery, knowledge sharing, and industry engagement
Nice to have:
Previous experience managing Investment Partnership/Joint Venture projects is desirable
Previous experience delivering prime cost contracts is desirable
