Our client is a highly regarded consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering complex, large-scale infrastructure programmes across the UK. Due to continued growth and a healthy project pipeline, they are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor with proven civils experience to play a key role in the successful delivery of major schemes. The Opportunity You will take a lead role in the commercial management of infrastructure projects, working across sectors such as highways, rail, utilities, and major public realm developments. From early-stage cost planning through to final account, you will be trusted to provide accurate commercial insight and add real value to both clients and project teams. Job Responsibility
Take full commercial ownership of civils and infrastructure projects from inception to completion
Lead cost planning, estimating, and budgeting activities
Manage procurement strategies and tender processes
Administer contracts (NEC preferred), including variations, compensation events, and claims
Produce accurate cost reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities
Provide strategic advice and challenge to clients and stakeholders
Support and mentor junior surveyors, contributing to team growth
Requirements
Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure or civil engineering projects (essential)
Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial frameworks
Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels
Proactive, detail-oriented, and commercially driven
Experience managing multiple projects or complex workstreams
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar (or equivalent experience)
Working towards or already chartered (RICS or equivalent) is advantageous
