Gallagher Ltd are seeking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Leitrim House. Reporting to the Commercial Director you will be responsible for the financial delivery of contracts, including the control of cost and cash, and ensuring they are procured and delivered within budget. You will be commercially driven and astute with a flair for building relationships with clients, contractors, and the operational team. Undertake and manage all commercial duties on numerous projects.

Job Responsibility

  • Deep understanding of the project’s contractual and commercial requirements including contractual compliance, knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts, quality, and risk management
  • Ensure external valuations are submitted in accordance with the conditions of the main contracts and that payments are received by the due date, taking full responsibility for contracts’ cash position
  • Manual costings of each project including preparation, compiling, and submitting applications for payments
  • Management of sub-contractors including procurement, placing orders, assessing value of works completed in period, payments, and final accounting
  • Accurately re-measure works in accordance with the method of measurement and in a timely manner whilst maximising our entitlement
  • Manage site teams in completing site records, notices, and diaries
  • General assistance to Commercial Director on other commercial duties
  • Complete monthly CVR reports, ensuring they accurately reflect the current position on site and the final profit projection

Requirements

  • Proficient in all MS Office (in particular Outlook & Excel) and Bluebeam
  • Excellent financial management skills
  • Good knowledge of construction methods and materials
  • A friendly, self-starter and highly motivated individual that can work on their own initiative to tight timeframes as well as manage the wider team
  • At least ten years’ experience in surveying
  • Degree in quantity surveying/commercial management or equivalent
  • Full UK driving licence required as candidate will be required to travel between office and visiting sites
