Job Description:

Senior Quantity Surveyor role at Story Contracting's Story Scotland division. The company has extensive experience in civil engineering, rail and construction, priding itself on offering practical and innovative solutions. The role involves being client-focused and working on a range of projects within the railway and civil engineering sector.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage project costs from concept to completion and through to the end of defects liability
  • Oversee contractual commitments
  • Challenge and support to identify best value solutions
  • Build and manage effective relationships with multiple stakeholders, internal colleagues and supply chain partners

Requirements:

  • A commercial qualification
  • CVR and Target Cost experience
  • ICC & NEC3 Forms of Contract knowledge
  • Experience of working within the rail industry, infrastructure, civils and frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Ability to develop close relationships, particularly with the key influencers for the Project
  • A well organised and disciplined approach, demonstrating the ability to accurately analyse and report on information gained
  • Confidence to work on own initiative with good planning and preparation skills
