Senior Quantity Surveyor

• Promoting and championing a safe working environment across all project activities
• Preparing subcontract documentation and leading negotiations on terms, pricing and programme
• Managing subcontract work packages, including interim assessments and change management
• Issuing commercial notices to clients and subcontractors in line with contractual requirements
• Managing change effectively and preparing Compensation Event Quotations
• Preparing, submitting and agreeing monthly applications for payment with the client
• Working collaboratively with engineering and operational teams to ensure accurate site records
• Producing and presenting monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and detailed commercial reports
• Maintaining robust forecasting, tracking and monitoring of all project expenditure
• Managing subcontractor liabilities and using Oracle based cost systems to monitor performance
• Reviewing and interpreting internal expenditure reports with attention to detail and accuracy
• Leading weekly progress and risk reduction meetings with clients and subcontractors
• Acting ethically and professionally, applying the principle of “Doing the right thing” to maximise value responsibly
• Providing contractual insight and support to estimating and bid teams when required

• A relevant degree or substantial experience in a commercial role within construction
• Experience managing large individual schemes or multiple smaller projects
• CSCS card (appropriate to role)
• A solid understanding of standard forms of contract
• Good IT skills, including Excel, Word and cost/contract management systems (CEMAR, Oracle)
• Effective communication, stakeholder management and negotiation abilities
• A good understanding of construction processes and project delivery
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Professional membership (MCIOB/MRICS) or working towards it is desirable
