Cloudera is looking for a dedicated Senior QE Engineer with strong Java expertise to join the Data In Motion – Flow Management team, focusing on Apache NiFi. This role ensures the continued reliability, performance, and quality of NiFi across both on-prem and cloud (DataHub/CDP) environments through continuous testing, stabilization, and release readiness.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and maintain automated integration, and end-to-end (E2E) tests
  • Diagnose and resolve defects, regressions, and customer-reported issues in NiFi
  • Contribute to NFQE (Non-Functional Quality Engineering) by designing performance and scalability tests
  • Participate in pre-release verification, ensuring stability and reliability for upcoming CDP and DataHub releases
  • Collaborate with the NiFi development teams to validate fixes and maintain overall product health
  • Enhance automation and CI/CD pipelines to improve test coverage, release efficiency, and quality assurance
  • Optionally, engage with the Apache NiFi open-source community to help validate and improve quality across versions

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in quality, sustaining, or software engineering roles
  • Strong Java development skills and familiarity with testing frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, or similar)
  • Experience with CI/CD systems, automated testing, and debugging distributed systems
  • Solid understanding of testing methodologies for functional, regression, and performance validation
  • Passion for delivering stable, high-quality software and solving complex issues
  • Bachelors/Masters degree in a related field
  • This role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Apache NiFi or similar data flow technologies
  • Knowledge of Python or Groovy for automation scripting
  • Familiarity with containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
