Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Software QA Consultant to act as a coach and advisor to an existing QA leader and team. This is not a hands-on execution role or a people management role – it’s focused on providing guidance, structure, and strategy to help mature QA practices for a large enterprise initiative. This person will work closely with the current QA Manager and development leadership to expand testing strategy, improve communication with stakeholders, and bring more structure and clarity to quality engineering efforts.

Job Responsibility

  • Partner directly with the QA Manager to provide guidance on leadership, team structure, and QA best practices
  • Help upskill and mentor QA leadership in managing large-scale testing efforts
  • Provide practical recommendations on prioritization, planning, and execution
  • Assess current QA processes and identify gaps
  • Help define and refine testing strategy for a large enterprise platform (Traverse)
  • Recommend improvements across test automation, coverage, and overall quality approach
  • Introduce scalable frameworks and best practices where needed
  • Help establish clearer QA processes, standards, and documentation
  • Improve how QA strategy, progress, and risks are communicated to leadership and stakeholders
  • Provide structure around reporting, metrics, and release readiness
  • Partner with development and leadership teams to align on quality expectations
  • Act as a sounding board for QA and engineering decisions
  • Support cross-functional alignment between QA, Dev, and business stakeholders

Requirements

  • 10+ years in QA / Quality Engineering
  • Strong background in test automation (UI, API, services, cloud)
  • Experience building or advising on QA strategy for large-scale projects
  • Prior experience mentoring or coaching QA leaders or teams
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD and modern testing practices
  • Familiarity with AWS and/or Azure
  • Experience in Agile/DevOps environments
  • Strong communication skills – able to translate QA strategy to non-QA stakeholders
