Job Description

QA Automation Engineer with a leading finance client (consulting through FinXL). FinXL Professional Services is a leading IT consultancy that partners with clients to bridge the gap between business needs and technology capabilities. Since 2003, we've been delivering high-value ICT services across government, finance, telecommunications, and enterprise sectors. FinXL is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join our consulting team and be deployed with a leading finance client on a 12 months contract in Melbourne. FinXL is also able to take over existing visas and provide sponsorship for consultants.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks from scratch using Playwright
  • Implement non-functional testing including performance and security for calculation engines
  • Design control frameworks to validate the accuracy of AI-generated advice logic
  • Integrate automated test suites directly into established CI/CD pipelines
  • Ensure the platform supports frequent, low-risk releases through robust automation
  • Define the overarching testing strategy for a newly formed onshore agile squad
  • Mentor associate testers to maintain high quality standards across the team

Requirements

  • Extensive commercial experience in QA automation specifically using Playwright
  • Strong technical background working with JBoss environments
  • Proven track record of integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience testing within highly regulated environments, preferably Banking & Finance
  • Demonstrated ability to develop testing strategies and frameworks from the ground up
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
