We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive SCM professional with hands-on experience in machining components sourcing, vendor development, and cost estimation. The ideal candidate should be able to manage supply chain operations for machined parts, ensure timely procurement at optimized costs, and closely coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to support manufacturing efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Handle end-to-end procurement of machined components, castings, and fabricated parts
Understand machining drawings and specifications to identify critical sourcing needs
Evaluate vendor capabilities and allocate parts based on quality, lead time, and capacity
Prepare detailed cost estimations for new and existing machined parts
Analyze cost breakdowns (material, machining time, labour, overheads)
Collaborate with design and production teams to suggest cost optimization opportunities
Develop and maintain relationships with machine shops, foundries, and fabrication vendors
Conduct regular vendor audits in coordination with the Quality team
Negotiate contracts and annual rate agreements with key suppliers
Coordinate with PPC and Production to ensure on-time availability of critical components
Monitor supplier performance (OTD, rejection rate, lead time adherence)
Maintain procurement MIS and report key KPIs to management
Requirements:
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
3–6 years in SCM / Strategic Sourcing, preferably in a machine-building or heavy engineering environment
Strong understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and material selection
Prior experience in cost estimation of machined parts is essential
